Week Commencing 1st June 2020

Monday 1st June

Tuesday 2nd June

Wednesday 3rd June

Thursday 4th June

Friday 5th June

Reading

Oxford Owl E-book reading (see separate guide)

You may find that your child is coming to the end of the books within their level online. If this is the case, you may want to try the books in the next level up (although we would not recommend going further than 1 level higher than their previous level).

Red Words

Practise reading and recognising 2 new red words and revise all previously learned red words.

If you have learnt all the red words, you may want to ‘spot check’ a few from each set every week to keep the children’s memory refreshed.

Maths

All the resources for this week can be found at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/. You need to click on the link on the home page that says Summer Term - Week 6 (w/c 1st June)

See the attached plan below.

The Read Write Inc videos we are using are now restarting the Set 2 and Set 3 sounds from the beginning. This will ensure the children cover all of the sounds, especially as we didn’t start using them at the beginning of the programme.  When your child meets a sound they already know, there will be new words on the video clip for them to practise. This revision will ensure the children are really embedding their sounds, ready for year 1. If your child has been covering only the set 2 sounds so far, and is now confident with recognising them and reading them in words, please move on to learning the set 3 sounds.

Early Learning Goals

We have reduced the number of additional Early Learning Goal activities to only three, so instead of choosing activities to complete from a larger selection, we will set three compulsory activities. This approach will enable us to ensure all children complete the same learning once the few children who are returning to school, do so in mid-June. Please continue to upload these to Tapestry.

Wellbeing Activity

Understanding of the World Activity

Physical Activity

Religious Education

Miracles – Jesus turns water into wine.

  • Make a record of the story using paint, drawing or a Lego retelling.
