At St Anselm’s, we recognise the valuable contribution that Physical Education (PE) makes to the health and well-being of our pupils. We believe that PE and sport play a key role in the lives of all children, helping them to develop essential qualities and attributes linked to our unique Rainbow Curriculum.
These qualities not only enhance their concentration and attitude but also have a significant positive impact on our children, contributing to their academic success.
We are committed to ensuring that all children engage in a minimum of two hours physical activity per week. Our PE lessons are delivered by an expert coach, employed by the school, who is supported by the teaching staff.
What is the Sports Premium?
The Government provides funding for each academic year to support the improvement of sport and PE in primary schools. This funding is allocated directly to schools and must be used exclusively for enhancing sport and PE provision for all children.
Monitoring and Evaluation
At the end of each academic year, we assess the action plan to measure the success and impact of the initiatives we have implemented. The PE leader, in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), will monitor the delivery to ensure that PE is provided effectively and to a high standard.
St Anselm’s allocation for the year 2023-24 is £17800.
