Our PTFA is about much more than simply fundraising. We exist to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff and parents together socially, in support of the school, working towards a common goal. We aim for it to be a lot of fun too! That’s not to say it doesn’t take a bit of hard work and effort along the way, but with the continued support of parents, grandparents, carers and staff, and of course the children, we hope to achieve successful fundraising years!
All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. We aim to hold a range of fundraising events to ensure that all families feel they have the opportunity to participate and enjoy what is on offer.
We organise many fun events throughout the year, including:
How we spend the money we raise
Decisions on what items are to be purchased from PTFA funds are made during PTFA meetings. Requests can come from parents, teachers or children. Normally, all the items The School Association approve for purchase are the little extras that are not covered by school budgets. We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all our children across all areas of the school and curriculum. The PTFA does have ongoing commitments every year such as leavers presents for Year 6 children, and maybe a small gift for each student at Christmas. We also save up for larger projects which we work on in partnership with Mrs White to see how items can benefit our school.
The School Association is only as good as the community we have around us and the ideas you can all share.
You can help as much or as little as you wish, helping out doesn't have to involve much commitment; just an hour or two occasionally to help out at events or ideas at a meeting will be more than appreciated.
The results of our efforts together will benefit our children and help to build our school community.
