Kindness and Compassion
“In a world where you can be anything, be kind”
‘Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.’ Kindness matters. It can turn a person’s whole day around. As Christians we are called to show compassion to our neighbour; Jesus commands us to ‘love one another’.
Children do not learn kindness by only thinking about it and talking about it. Kindness is best learned by feeling it so that it can be replicated. Therefore, in all aspects of learning, children in our school will be encouraged to compliment, to congratulate and to offer support.
Fostering healthy social and emotional habits in this way will have an impact on how our children treat each other and provide them with invaluable tools that they can use throughout their lives, inspiring them to be a force of change in a world where negativity and anger can often be such a dominant force.
