Classroom Information for Year 2 - Daisy Class

HOMEWORK

The children will have homework tasks to complete each week. These will be set on 'Google Classroom'. When the children have completed the work, we ask that the parents take a photograph, and upload the picture, so that we can see how they are getting on.

Each week they will bring home a reading book to last the week. They will be required to answer the questions in their Reading Record (to be uploaded).

They will have a set of spellings to practise for a test on Friday. At the bottom of the list, it will indicate which pages of the 'Word Up' booklet they have to complete. These are activities linked to the weekly spellings. (to be uploaded)

I will set the spellings on a Friday evening so that the children have the weekend as extra practice days.

They are expected to work on the Times Tables Rock Stars for a few minutes each evening. (no uploading necessary)

The children will be set a Grammar activity every other Monday by Miss O'Connell (to be uploaded)

PE

The children have their PE lesson on Tuesday. They will need to bring their PE kit on this day. - School shorts, white round neck T shirt and trainers or plimsolls.(The girls will need a pair of socks if they are wearing tights that day)

As the weather starts to become colder, the children will need to bring a tracksuit top and bottom.

WATER BOTTLES

The children need to bring in water to keep them hydrated throughout the day. These bottles need to be 'sports top' bottles, so that if they are knocked over, the children's work will not be ruined.

LOST ITEMS

Please ensure that all your child's uniform is labelled. This enables us to reunite any lost items with the correct child.

ANY QUESTIONS OR QUERIES

If you have any questions or concerns, you could message me via Google Classroom and I will get back to you as soon as I am able. Alternatively, you can telephone or email the office and they will pass on the message.

I hope this all makes sense, and we look forward to meeting you later in the term.

Many thanks, Mrs Snowden and Miss O'Connell
