Music in Year 3

In year 3, our music lessons focus upon learning the ukulele.

During the summer, we will then take part in a performance at the Mick Jagger Centre, along with other Dartford schools. More information will become available nearer the time.

Once parents have signed the agreement, ukuleles can be taken home to practice. However, ukuleles must be in school every Tuesday for the class music lesson.

A booklet outlining the basics will also be sent home for the children to use for practice.

PE in Year 3

PE lessons take place on Friday.  Children are to arrive at school wearing their PE kit. As the weather begins to turn colder, you will be notified as to when we will switch from shorts and white t-shirt into tracksuits. Homework in Year 3

Every Monday the homework for the week will become available online and must be completed by the following Monday. This will alternate between maths and English.

On Mondays, the spellings become available ready to learn for the spelling test on the following Monday which will be completed through Spelling Shed in school.  Each term, a copy of the spellings will be sent home in advance for you and the children to look at and prepare for the spelling tests.

Times Table Rock Stars is ongoing. The expectation is for at least 3 minutes to be played each evening. In year 3, our focus will be on the 3,4 and 8 times tables.
