HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

The School Association is only as good as the community we have around us and the ideas you can all share.

You can help as much or as little as you wish, helping out doesn't have to involve much commitment; just an hour or two occasionally to help out at events or ideas at a meeting will be more than appreciated.

The results of our efforts together will benefit our children and we build our school community.

We are very grateful to all those who help out, whether by baking cakes, helping to run a stall, putting up Gazebos or providing professional support such as graphic design, printing, catering, carpentry or electrics.

There are several ways you can get involved and help.

  1. Become a member of the School Association– members are required to attend three meetings a year, we have one roughly every half term. There is a Senior Committee made up of the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretaries but all members contribute and play a role in making decisions sharing ideas and organising events and activities.
  2. Be a Class Representative – This year we are introducing Class Reps to the School Association. We are looking for a parent from each year to represent their year and help share ideas, events and fundraising activities. Our class reps will play a key role, providing a link between individual classes and parents, and the School Association. You can be a class rep for a term or a year or even share with other parents! If you would like to become a class rep, please do get in touch.
  3. Be a Friend of the School Association – we know not everyone is able to attend meetings or help to organise activities. Friends of the School Association, is for those that are happy to lend a helping hand in a smaller capacity. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, or even if you can’t come into school. There are always jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare e.g. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets, baking cakes, blowing up balloons etc.
  4. Help at events – large events, such as the Christmas activities and summer fetes need a lot of help to be a success.  It is at these when we really do need all the help we can get such as serve refreshments at school events, make cakes for bake sales, fold raffle tickets or man a stall at the Christmas fete for half an hour.

We really couldn’t achieve what we do without the behind the scenes help that we receive. If you would like to be more involved or volunteer, or let us know of any contacts or skills that we could use, please drop us an email.

COMMUNITY LINKS

We have, over time, developed strong links with the local community and are always well supported by both residents and businesses. Many of our local shops, leisure facilities, community groups and restaurants are very generous in their donations of raffle prizes and funds and provide invaluable support, particularly at our fairs. We are extremely grateful to these community members as they make a huge difference to our fundraising efforts. If you think your workplace could offer us time, services or raffle items please do let us know.
