RE Curriculum

The Religious Education curriculum at St Anselm's follows the 'Come and See' programme which meets the requirements of the Religious Education Curriculum Directory (2012).

As a school we have enhanced this programme to include the study of

  • inspirational figures, in line with our school aim 'Inspire to Aspire';
  • scriptural texts;
  • historical and contemporary scriptural art from world cultures.

In the summer term, all classes study an aspect of Catholic Social Teaching. In these units, children learn about one of the seven areas: stewardship; common good; distributive justice; human dignity; solidarity; promoting peace; and subsidiarity.

In addition to the study of the Catholic faith, we also study other world faiths in focus weeks throughout the year. Each year groups studies a different aspect on the faith.
