Effective modern foreign language speakers display the following characteristics:
- An ability to use a range of communication strategies in flexible and dynamic ways.
- An ability to readily make new connections, especially when dealing with complex tasks.
- An increased capacity to process information.
- The capacity for analytical thinking, conceptualizing, good working memory, and dexterity.
