Wellbeing Award for Schools – Reaccreditation Success!

We are delighted to share that St. Anselm’s Catholic Primary School has successfully achieved reaccreditation for the Wellbeing Award for Schools in July 2025.

The report praised the exceptional leadership of wellbeing at all levels, highlighting the school’s strong sense of community, embedded support systems, and unwavering focus on the wellbeing of every child, parent, and staff member. The verifier noted:

“Overall, St Anselm’s School is a school where wellbeing remains at the heart of everything that they do and continues to be celebrated by staff, parents and pupils.”

During the visit, the verifier observed our PRIDE values, OPAL play provision, and “Feel It” emotional vocabulary initiative in action across the school. Our tiered wellbeing strategy, emotional check-in systems, and “bubble time” with trusted adults were recognised as key strengths.

Feedback from pupils, parents and staff confirmed that:

  • Pupils feel happy, safe and listened to

  • Staff feel valued, supported and empowered

  • Parents recognise the school’s strong culture of care, communication and trust

We are especially proud that the quality of our wellbeing provision has been recognised in recent Church and Ofsted inspections, and we remain committed to building on this success as we implement our next steps—including expanding ELSA provision and deepening parental engagement.

At St. Anselm’s, we believe that emotional wellbeing and mental health are the foundations of a flourishing and inclusive school community. Our Wellbeing Strategy 2024–25 sets out how we support every child to feel safe, valued, and able to thrive — emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Built around a clear three-tiered approach, the strategy outlines universal, targeted, and specialist support for pupils, alongside partnerships with families and external professionals. It reflects our Gospel values, our commitment to early intervention, and our drive to equip children with the tools they need to understand, express, and manage their emotions.

We invite you to read the full strategy to learn how we are nurturing resilience, building strong relationships, and creating a whole-school culture of care and compassion.
